Instead of buying the usual Valentine's Day card this year I decided to try crafting a handmade one for my step-daughter Jordan. She lives quite far away and I like to send her a little something to let her know that we're thinking of her. So I brought out my card stock, glue and Cricut Expression and went to work. I didn't have much time to be fancy as I had to get ready for work the next day. Here is what I came up with:
While I was on the loose with my Cricut, I thought I would make a tag for my mom to use in a book I got her for her birthday. Here is how it turned out:
A close up:
The supplies I used were a dragonfly stamp, 'Dream' stamp, clear embossing ink, black embossing powder, embossing tool, card stock, gel pens, ribbon and my Cricut Expression. All materials were purchased at Michaels. First I cut the tag out using my Cricut, stamped the images using the clear embossing ink, embossed the images with a heat embossing tool, coloured them in with gel pens and put on the ribbon. I'm still trying to get the hang of embossing and trying to minimize the mess I make.
For anyone interested in learning more about heat embossing I've found a couple of good videos on YouTube to share. There are lots of great videos out there!
